It’s been an amazing couple of months for THE BIG BEND’s theatrical release. We opened to acclaim in cities from New York to LA to Austin, TX. We were the highest-grossing film at the Dallas Angelika Theater in our first weekend. And now this exceptional review from The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s finally here. The world premiere of the feature film we’ve been laboring over for so long. THE BIG BEND, which was filmed on location in the remote outer reaches of the West Texas desert tells the story of two families coming together for a reunion and facing more than they bargained for. Shooting the film involved every variety of challenge and obstacle, not least the tempestuous, unpredictable (and damn hot) weather. But we soldiered on and the resulting film was worth all the blood, sweat, tears, and more sweat.

THE BIG BEND stars Jason Butler Harner (OZARK), Virginia Kull (BIG LITTLE LIES), Erica Ash (SURVIVOR’S REMORSE), and David Sullivan (THE WILDS). Produced by Aaron Brown and Katrina Wolfe.

This shoot for Ford entailed five cities in nine days, profiling early adopters of the amazing new EV Mustang Mach-E. I *almost* sold myself one in the course of this shoot. Maybe next year.

Principal photography has begun on the new feature film THE BIG BEND, starring Jason Butler Harner, Virginia Kull, Erica Ash, David Sullivan, and Nick Masciangelo. What’s it about? Great question.

SYNOPSIS:
Two families, the Prices and the Talbotts, meet for a long overdue reunion in the remote West Texas desert — where events quickly don’t go as planned. Harboring secrets and facing private crises, they explore one of the wildest places in America, testing the boundaries of marriage, friendship, and parenthood, and doing their best to survive the experience. But not all of them will.

Epic night at the Addy Awards!

The annual District 13 American Advertising Awards (aka the Pele Awards) happened this past Saturday night. Three campaigns I was fortunate to direct for MVNP and Anthology agencies made it into the show, with dramatic results.

The work won:

SEVEN gold awards
FOUR silver awards
FOUR bronze awards
“Best in Show” for advertising
and the People’s Choice award

This is advertising, so we’re not good at math, but that seems to add up to a whopping SEVENTEEN awards this year! I’m honored and humbled to be involved with so much great work. Thanks to the agency creatives who brought me in, and to the crew that made it happen on set.
