CHIEF in Tahiti
CHIEF recently opened the Festival International du Film Oceanien (FIFO) in Tahiti. I was in attendance for the show at the packed 800-seat auditorium in downtown Pape‘ete, and it was as positive and exciting a festival screening as I’ve had. Whether it’s the French passion for cinema trickling down to the French Polynesian community, or just that there’s not a lot of action after dark in Pape‘ete, the crowds were amazing.
